Um das volle Potential der Geräte nutzen zu können und auch über Wartung und korrekte Handhabung informiert zu sein, wurden die Decathleten in einer eigenen Schulung unterrichtet. Jetzt steht dem professionellen Sägen, Bohren und Schleifen nichts mehr im Wege.

Teil des Wettbewerbs ist ein Abendessen, das von den einzelnen Teams für einander veranstaltet wird, um die Praxistauglichkeit unter Beweis zu stellen. LISI ist in vieler Hinsicht ein Prototyp, allerdings muss man in dem Haus auch leben können. Also traf sich vor wenigen Tagen eine intime Gruppe von Decathleten, um unser Menü für Kalifornien Probe zu kochen. Welches Team von uns in Irvine schlussendlich bekocht werden darf steht noch offen. Wir wollen allerdings nichts Weiteres über die Speisekarte verraten und lassen einfach die Fotos für sich sprechen. Guten Appetit!

Ob Sturm, Regen oder Schnee – LISI hält nun allem stand. Denn letzte Woche wurde das Dach abgedichtet. Unterstützt durch zwei Wolfin-Mitarbeiter wurde einen Tag lang dicht gemacht. Mit 450° Heißluftgeräten der Firma Haberkorn ging es ans Verkleben. Die helle, reflektierende Dachbahn ist extra für Photovoltaik-Systeme am Dach ausgelegt und macht LISI widerstandsfähig entgegen allen Witterungsbedingungen. LISI ist also bereit: Die PV-Anlage kann kommen.

Vor ein paar Tagen erreichte uns die Lieferung der JOSKO Schiebefenster. Wir mussten uns vorsichtig durch die Halle bewegen, damit die Fenster bloß keinen Schaden tragen. Die Größe ist überwältigend und gibt guten Einblick in die Großzügigkeit des Innenraums. Drei ganze Tage waren wir beschäftigt um die Fenster fachgerecht zu installieren. Nach dem Einbau schoben wir das Fensterpaket in den dafür vorgesehenen Spalt im Kern, damit die Scheiben nicht weiter unter Brech-Risiko standen. Wieder ein Punkt den wir auf unserer ToDo-Liste abhaken können; auf zum Nächsten.

Letzte Woche hat LISI den höchsten Punkt erreicht (ohne den PV Elementen). In anderen Worten, wir haben die Dachelemente auf die Kernelemente platziert. Zum ersten Mal konnten wir in LISI rein gehen und ein Gefühl für Dimensionen und Proportionen bekommen. Das Richtfest, wie man in Österreich sagt, wird dann gefeiert, wenn der Rohbau fertiggestellt ist. Die Tradition besagt, dass ein mit Baustellenbändern geschmückter Nadelbaum am Dach befestigt wird. Natürlich hat Team LISI diese Tradition sehr ernst genommen.

Seit Kalenderwoche 13 ist die Hälfte des LISI Teams im schönen Kärnten. Genauer gesagt in Weissensee, denn dort befindet sich unsere Halle, die uns für die nächsten vier Monate von der Firma Weissenseer Holz-System-Bau GmbH zur Verfügung gestellt wird, um LISI vorzufertigen. Den ursprünglichen Plan auszuführen, und LISI in der „Halle ums Eck“ in Wien aufzubauen, war selbst mit starker Mobilisierung und Informationsfluss auf allen Ebenen und Instanzen leider nicht möglich.
Was dich nicht umbringt, macht dich stärker. In diesem Sinne erstellten wir eine Zweigstelle in Kärnten und planten von hier an die geographische Veränderung in unseren Zeitplan mit ein. Zweimal Wöchentlich pendeln Studierende zwischen Wien und Weissensee, um dort mit beteiligten Firmen LISI zum Leben zu erwecken. Bis 22. Juli wurde quasi jeder Tag durchgeplant; es soll nichts dem Zufall überlassen werden, denn an dem Tag soll LISI bereits zerlegt und in Schiffs-Container verladen sein.
Bis es so weit ist, verbringen unsere Decathleten ein paar lauschige Frühjahrsnächste in einem netten urigen Berghaus mit Holzofen und Stube. Glücklicherweise steht uns dieses Haus für den Zeitraum zur Verfügung. Einziges bestehendes Fragezeichen bleibt der Transport der Teammitglieder zwischen dem Wiener Büro und der Halle. Mitten in einem eher grauen und kühlen März beschloss Team Austria sich einen Abend mit ein bisschen Musik und jeder Menge schweren Kugeln zu erhellen. Nach einigen kleinen Startschwierigkeiten, bei denen wir hauptsächlich die Seitenrinnen austesteten, kamen wir beim Bowling richtig in Fahrt. In diversen Teams wie den „LISI-Riders“, den „Gutterballs“ und den „Over-the-Lines“ stellten wir Spares, Splits und Strikes aller Art zur Schau.
Nach zwei einigermassen zivilisierten Runden wurde dann die Turnierbeleuchtung gegen bunte Lichter und Stimmungsmusik eingetauscht, was bei einigen von uns eher skurrile Siegestänze hervorrief. Es folgten mehrere Runden Party-Bowling, wonach wir den Abend gemütlich mit ein paar Drinks ausklingen liessen. Strike!

Die „Bauen & Energie Wien“ ist Österreichs bedeutendste Bau- und Energiesparmesse. An die 600 Top-Unternehmen präsentierten auf knapp 45.000 m² Neuheiten und Bewährtes zum Motto „Besser leben – gesund, sicher und leistbar wohnen“.
In diesem Sinne konnten wir auch unser LISI-Haus an einem eigenen Messestand vorstellen. Wir hatten die Chance viele unserer Sponsoren zu treffen und auch mit anderen Leuten zu sprechen, die sich für LISI und den Solar Decathlon begeistern.
